Alkira Network Cloud Integrates with AWS Transit Gateway Connect Attachment

Alkira’s integration with AWS Transit Gateway Connect provides a complete cloud services and cloud management portfolio that gives enterprise customers fast, flexible access to the cloud

SAN JOSE, CA – December 10, 2020 – Alkira®, a Network Cloud pioneer, today announced integration with AWS Transit Gateway Connect, a new AWS Transit Gateway attachment type announced today by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that enables its customers to connect third-party SD-WAN hubs and network virtual appliances with AWS Transit Gateway. This delivers seamless AWS cloud capabilities to Alkira customers and provides a dramatically simplified Cloud Network as-a-Service (CNaaS) for on-premises, cloud, and multi-cloud networking environments. The Alkira Cloud Services Exchange™ (Alkira CSX) integration with AWS Transit Gateway Connect is now available.

“We are delighted to work with AWS partners such as Alkira who help customers simplify their on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments,” said Mayumi Hiramatsu, Vice President, Amazon EC2 Networking at Amazon Web Services, Inc. “With AWS Transit Gateway Connect, customers can address fast innovation cycles with the speed and ease of connectivity on AWS.”

“Alkira seamlessly integrated the new AWS Transit Gateway Connect data plane, control plane, management plane and API into Alkira’s Network Cloud, the Alkira Cloud Services Exchange™. Customers can benefit from high speed low latency segmented network connectivity from Amazon VPCs into their global multi-region cloud network delivered as-a-service by Alkira. At the same time, Alkira offers customers an as-a-service choice of integrated network services like enterprise-class security and flexible last-mile access technologies, such as AWS Direct Connect, standards-based IPsec, SD-WAN and SSL VPN, to connect their on-premise and remote user environments to AWS,” said Amir Khan, CEO and Founder of Alkira.

The Alkira Network Cloud consists of a highly available and resilient network of globally interconnected Alkira Cloud Exchange Points (Alkira CXPs) – virtual multi-cloud points of presence with a full routing stack and network services capabilities – and an Alkira CSX Portal. Users, sites, data centers, regional SD-WAN fabrics, collocations, cloud, network and security services, and SaaS/Internet exit points connect to the Alkira global cloud backbone through the geographically closest Alkira CXP.

Integrated stateful security services, such as Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Firewalls, coupled with end-to-end segmentation capabilities and intent-based policies offered by the Alkira CSX, allow enterprises to consistently secure on-premise, hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Alkira offers a modern graphical interface for all design, provisioning, and day-2 operational needs.

The Alkira Network Cloud reinvents network infrastructure by enabling enterprises to easily deploy a cloud service with point and click simplicity. Customers can create and provision fully secure networks in any region worldwide and integrate security through the Alkira CSX marketplace, enabling enterprise connectivity from any on-premises site, including core and edge data centers, to any hybrid, public or multi-cloud in a few clicks.

The Network Needs To Be Part of Your AI Strategy

Enterprises are moving quickly on AI, but many are still running networking models designed for a slower, more centralized and static era. Today’s network has to connect clouds, data centers, campuses, branches, partner environments, and increasingly private AI infrastructure while enforcing consistent policy across all of it. That creates a new operational reality: every new...
